Along with the exhibition, there were also held: a briefing on “Uzbekistan – a new center for safety, quality and compliance”, a joint forum of the Uztextilprom Association and the Confederation of Employers of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the ILO, trainings on the latest trends and news in the industry, business and press tours, as well as B2B meetings with the participation of leading world companies.
This thematic exhibition in the textile industry is held twice a year for the first time. The reason for this is, firstly, that the textile industry has been one of the drivers of the economy in recent years and only it has the widest range of products.
Secondly, the uniqueness of the textile industry is that it has seasonality. That is, the demand for certain types and types of products varies depending on the time of year. For example, the spring-summer period is characterized by increased demand for light, beach and sportswear.
– It should be noted here that the international exhibition “Textile and Fashion Industry – UzTextile Expo Spring 2023” has started its work in Tashkent for the sixth time. Since last year, it has been held twice a year. After all, this direction is one of the most dynamically developing in our country. It is important that at present the textile industry has become export-oriented, the volume of deliveries of products abroad is increasing every year. The country began to actively increase exports to the EU countries, having received the status of a beneficiary of the GSP+ preferences program in 2021. This year Uzbekistan plans to increase the volume of exports to $ 5 billion and implement 76 new projects, as well as create 26 thousand new jobs, N.Khayitboeva says.
If almost 120 companies took part in the autumn exhibition of 2022, Textile Expo Spring 2023 gathers 160 companies and brands from 10 countries on its site.
